During this season many call Lent, believers have a unique opportunity to redirect our focus back to Christ. In seeking God, we are reminded that the wilderness we experience still holds the promise of renewal, and fresh hope. God may withdraw for a “moment”, yet never forsakes His children. His unfailing love lifts us up and gives our hearts courage to ask forgiveness for wrongs done, and the grace to carry us back into Jesus’ marvelous light! Our redeemer is waiting to meet us there.

We now enter the season which many Christians around the world call Lent. Think of these weeks leading up to the crucifixion & resurrection of Christ as a fresh opportunity to seek the Lord. Simply and honestly ask God to show you areas in your life that His light, love and power can bring healthy change in. What an awesome Savior and Friend Jesus is, so prepare your heart for some amazing blessings in relationship with Him! Peter encouraged the people of Jerusalem to” Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,”(Acts 3:19)

The New Year is here! We want to wish you and yours God’s blessings in 2026. And encourage you to seek the Lord first in the New Year- call on His Name, Jesus. Jesus taught the most important priority in life in His first sermon: the Sermon on the Mount: to pursue God. Jesus said in Matthew 6:30-33, “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”

The final gift we receive from God in this advent season is His love; also represented by the angel candle. Luke 1:30-32: “Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” Take some time this week to sit at Jesus’ feet and unwrap the gift of His marvelous love. We wish you and yours a very Merry and blessed Christmas!

As we continue this advent journey, we remember the gift of “joy” Christ brings to mankind. In Luke 2:10-11 we learn of the angels from heaven declaring tidings of “great joy” to the shepherds, who were tending their flocks in the fields at night. “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” This great news which brought hope to people over 2000 years ago, is still awakening hearts with joy, as those who searched for light to dispel their darkness. Receive Jesus’ joy today!

In week two of Advent, we receive the gift of Peace, as Jesus Christ came into the world, born in Bethlehem, as our Prince of Peace. In Hebrew, shalom (שָׁלוֹם) primarily means “peace,” as well as representing wholeness or a state of being complete.
Take moments to reflect, and experience the supernatural calm only God’s Holy Spirit can bring to your heart. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

This week is the first of four leading up to Christmas, where believers celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! Advent is a devotional opportunity for the Church centered on 4 gifts which God gives us through the coming of His Son. This week remember, be uplifted and take courage by the HOPE which came into the world, through God’s Son. “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5) So friend, don’t give up- there’s always hope!

“Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving week! When we pause for a moment and think about even just one blessing God has given us, we realize what a good God He is!
“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. (Psalms 107:1-3)
